25 Years and Counting
It is very rare today to hear of anyone that has remained on a given job for an extended length of time. Some people change jobs about as often as they buy new shoes! But, recently Oxford Properties celebrated Randy Sullivan’s 25th anniversary as an employee. Randy began working for Oxford Properties in 1985. He was hired as a grounds worker and continues in that position today.
“While it may be his official title, Randy is much more than a “Grounds Worker’. He’s always the first to volunteer when another employee, management, or maintenance, needs assistance. When he takes on a job, you don’t have to be concerned that it will be done,” states Bill Kennedy of Oxford Properties.
Randy’s duties include keeping the grounds free of litter and trash, miscellaneous grounds upkeep, passing out flyers/newsletters, and assisting with apartment makeovers after move outs. He also helps move equipment and appliances and assists with many Learning Center Activities such as the outdoor movies.
Randy’s friendly attitude and giving nature make him a favorite with co-workers and residents alike. He is a dedicated employee who not only does his job but is willing to help others, as well. Last year, Randy was chosen as the best overall team member, in a vote by co-workers, and was awarded a flat screen TV by the management.
Bill Douglas, the maintenance supervisor recently said, “Randy is one of the good guys. He’s always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He is truly an example of living by the Golden Rule.”
As a thank you for 25 years of valuable service to the company, Oxford Properties awarded Randy with an all expense paid cruise for two to Mexico. The only problem now will be getting him to take time off long enough to go on the trip!
Congratulations, Randy, for a job well done—or should we say many jobs over the last 25 years!
